Then Again….

My last post talked about signs of life in business. Spring even. Then comes a sad email from the landlord of my midtown Manhattan office building labeled simply “incident.” Apparently, the police were summoned after someone decided the other evening to jump to his death from the 29th floor of our building in the late afternoon. He was pronounced dead on the street below by the coroners and EMTs. For many and many more to come, it is that bad. I can only hope that we are starting to see that beginning of improvement, the market’s been heading up slowly the last few days, who knows? But I am sad for the family of the gentleman who, it appears, simply couldn’t handle it anymore.
