A True Worldwide Reach – You Come from 127 Countries!

Occassionally we take a look at who is visiting this humble blog. In the last year in particular, your geography has become quite diverse. Yes, visitors to the Reverse Merger & SPAC Blog have come by from 127 different countries, according to the very cool analytic tool that Google provides.
Who is the most? Of course the good old US of A wins with about 82% of our visitors. That’s actually down a few points from the same period last year, clearly increasing our non-US presence. You might think China is #2, but in fact it sits in the bronze medal place with #3. The country visiting us second most is our northern neighbor Canada. In fact they are here 50% more often than the Chinese. I am guessing that part of the reason for this is that the site is still in English. At one point we tried an automatic program that translates the blog into a number of languages, but too many people told us the translation was beyond horrible, so we ended that. But more and more folks in China do speak English, so I guess that is fueling the rise in their visits. If you put Hong Kong and China together (and they have done that themselves..), they are about even with Canada.
Rounding out the top ten countries honoring us with their presence are, in order from #4, the United Kingdom, India, Hong Kong, Germany, Italy, South Korea and Japan. Other countries with over 100 visits annually include Russia, France, the Netherlands, Israel, Australia and Singapore. What are some other places where people log on here? Jamaica, Bahrain, Monaco, Slovenia, Croatia, Pakistan, Vietnam and Kenya. Overall the number of countries visiting is up over 50% from our first year which started in late 2006. And oh yeah, total visits have more than tripled since that first year. In the last year our blog on this narrow little topic garnered almost 50,000 total visits. Now if all of you would buy my book…!
Over the next few weeks I will throw in a few more posts about blog visiting data, including who you are, how long you visit and all that kind of cool Internety stuff. For now, enjoy the last breaths of summer!
