By an overwhelming 380 to 41 vote, the US House of Representatives passed the Jumpstart our Business Startups (JOBS) Act just a short while ago. This means the bill only requires Pres. Obama’s signature, and BO has said he will sign it. Maybe even today? We’ll see.
As I have commented, the bill will be helpful to smaller companies looking to raise capital, but does not represent a real dramatic set of changes to help bring back beleaguered small company IPOs or do much of anything to help small public companies under $75 million in market value. That said, even help around the edges is good, and kudos to a bi-partisan Congress for getting it through.
